At Work!

Thank you for visiting at the official website of the 2011 Allicock Family Reunion. I am Jeffrey Gittens, your site manager, and I look forward to meeting you in person at the reunion. We are working really hard here in the Washington DC-Maryland-Virginia area to make sure that the reunion will be a successful one. I hope that you will take some time to navigate around the website from time to time in order to stay abreast with the development and finalization of arrangements . I encourage you to learn something about the wiki technology, the powerful tool that we are using in order to facilitate communication between all participants in the Family Festival, as it has now been designated. The contact information for all members of the steering committee has been posted to the website so do feel free to contact any of us with any ideas suggestions or cautionary notes that you think maybe helpful in the work of planning and implementing this reunion. Click on the forum tag on the welcome page and post a remark or suggestion so that we can all share in this interactive experience.
The contact information for all registrants for the reunion is also available to you for purposes of information exchange on such things as travel arrangements, shared accommodations etc. The World Wide Web provides us with such wonderful opportunities to rebuild and strengthen the ties between all family members and friends so widely dispersed from Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Canada, The United States, The United Kingdom, the Caribbean as a whole and the rest of the world.
Most importantly we have to get our number of registrants up. I invite you to use the welcome page of the website to invite as many family members and friends as you can so that our numbers can improve significantly. This increases our bargaining power with the hotels for more favorable room rates as well as with the caterers for price-per-plate deals etc.
Once again, on behalf of the steering committee I welcome you into our family as we pray that this journey binds us closer together as we strengthen the legacy of the Robert F. Allicock Heritage Foundation. May his legacy live on in perpetuity. Looking forward to seeing you in Virginia in 2011!
